Can I call an web api controller without writing the full path, if the controller is on the same server as the site?

$.ajax({
 type: "POST",
 url: "http://localhost:50110/api/Product",
 data: $("#addProductForm").serialize()
});

Can I call the controller without "localhost:50110", if the site is located at the same address?

Solution
So you have this approach which is that? What question?
Or do you have some problem to write: /api/Product??
Just what my problem was with serialization, and I thought that does not reach the controller for path. Stupid tin - verna.Adams commented on June 26th 19 at 14:16
