As you look to write applications for Android without using android xml?

Hello, I'm new to this, but I want to know is it possible to write an application without using the markup language of android, and using only the Canvas and the awt package classes from Java?

I must say that the app I plan to write seems to be not according to the standards of android xml, hence the question whether it is worth it to use?..
Digging a little in the android xml, after my usual html+css, came to the conclusion that it is quite fixed in the use of the thing and the many interesting things it will not do. Well, for example:

I have not tried, but this location of the buttons relative to each other to be and could not. Always something was off, gone, cut. But then I once planned to make a beautiful and not very easy (android xml) animation for these buttons.
I think without xml it would be easier, I threw the button on the desired location (calculate the number of pixels in the dpi to adequately on all devices looked), rendered, has animirovan and enjoy yourself that everything works fine.
Correct me if I'm wrong and point to the right path, I beg of you.
