Constantly lost the resolution of Ubuntu?

Good afternoon, here's the situation, there is a server running ubuntu with a dedicated graphics card [AMD/ATI] RV710 [Radeon HD 4350/4550]. To it via the VGA connected to a vga switch that takes the vga cable to the TV. Ubuntu is configured as mediaserver, turns video, the problem is that at some point, the image stops to get on the plasma, gives xrandr can't open display. After every reboot works, but again after a time disappears, xorg is the default, ie nothing in it. What can you do to prevent this from happening again? thank you!

You need to make a number of edits to xorg.conf, it seems.
