Previously, almost all sections was imposed on divas. But HTML5 has added two new tag for the partition layout:
— semantic or logical section of the document;
— independent section of a document.
To avoid confusion, we explain where and when to use different containers:
container General purpose, not necessarily semantic. Divas are used to markup small blocks, create the mesh, and decorative effects.
— larger logical container that combines meaning. For instance, the "About us", product list, section of personal profile information and so on.
— independent, whole and independent section of the document. This section unchanged to use in various places, including on other sites. Examples: article, blog post, forum post and so on.

Somehow I think section usually comes as a wrapper of something, at least it does most of the..
<section>
 <h2>recent articles</h2>
<article>
 <h2>article Title 1</h2>
 <p>article Text</p>
</article>
<article>
 <h2>article Title 2</h2>
 <p>article Text</p>
</article>
</section>

The W3C writes that section - any part (header, main content, sidebar), and article - independent content.

For example,
-----------------------------------------
Hello world!
Lorem ipsum dolot sit amet.
-----------------------------------------
- article and
-----------------------------------------
Something | Right column
Something else | Other

-----------------------------------------
- rather section

Section (section) is a part of something. Article (article) is a separate thing. In practice, the answer to the question: "what should I use section or article ?" - depends on the intentions of the author. For example, in the Chapter "Granny Smith", can be a section: "These juicy, green apples are great for filling in pies" because there will be many other chapters (and possibly) other kinds of apples. On the other hand, one could imagine svitavou or newspaper ads that contained "Granny Smith. These juicy green apples are great for filling in pies," and it would be an article, because not contain different content. Comments on the article are not part of the article they comment, but they are connected so it can be contained in their own article element.
