Facades\Hash vs md5() Laravel 5.3?

The meaning Facades\Hash, if there is a standard function md5()?

It makes no sense if for You there is no difference between them.
But in General, just the md5 hash function. But Facades\Hash provides a wrapper for the methods of work with passwords. Here to compare costs with the function password_hashthat seems to be used internally.
