HDD 4 of section c with a single letter on the 1st physical disk wtf???

Welcome Komrad, in the age of fashionable libraries, frameworks and other tinsel rarely encounter the iron... But even so had to touch it.

Danno: there is one physical screw on 750 GB and it is marked by 2 volume/partition, but for some reason through the dispatcher shows that he allegedly broken into 4 sections with 2 letters, those of type for each letter, 2 partition.

I think what the hell is the demolition of the disk L and expanding D.... ummm even more incomprehensible was that the hell is going on here...

Komrad tell me what the hell it's called?))) So how do I do it with a single normal partition without any sort of pseudodementia in 4 volumes...

PYSY: it's the laptop Windows is on another SSD, I have 2 drive in the laptop

Solution
Someone moved the disk to a dynamic disk, and then merged the sections in the stripes.
AFAIK, only via the demolition of partitions, the translation of the disk in basic mode and creating new sections.
Actually I thought so that will have to demolish everything and create a new partition. Thank you.

PYSY: AFAIK - the devil in the Internet live 10 years but the first time I hear such reduction))) Went to Google for dynamic disk and the stripes... - Teagan_Rutherford commented on July 2nd 19 at 17:03
but there are some disadvantages of dynamic disk? I bought a SSD, reinstalled the system and after the Windows have combined two partitions on the hard drive in one. And wind turned it all into a "dynamic disk". Everything works, just aesthetically not nice to see 2 pseudorutile. Some more disadvantages of this? - Edwin.Abbo commented on July 2nd 19 at 17:06
If the stripe on one HDD, then no problems should not be. Two reliability decreases. - Kenyatta commented on July 2nd 19 at 17:09

: I only have 2, one ssd with the system on the other hard 1 TB - Edwin.Abbo commented on July 2nd 19 at 17:21
: And what problems will arise? - earl.Weissnat commented on July 2nd 19 at 17:24
: The stripe, that is to say Raid-0, if the damage information into one of the HDD stops to read at all. To restore possible, but difficult - Kenyatta commented on July 2nd 19 at 17:27
: Well, it's not a stripe.
Stripe is striping data across multiple disks.
And reliability from stripe below because reading any data they have to be whole on all drives, as a result, the probability of data corruption is higher the more disks.

In this case, the disk one, partition one. Reliability is exactly the same as a conventional drive.
Just section do not use consecutive addresses, and of those that were free.
This is a normal situation, when you frequently change the sizes of disks decrease, or increase.

Disk create four sections A, B, C, D
AAAAAA BBBBBB CCCCCC DDDDDD
Then we don't need sections a and D, and section B on the contrary was necessary to increase
With the removal of the no problems but to expand drive B will not work, because the regular disk can only expand the space is located at the address immediately following the address of the end of the section.
If the disk is normal, we have to remove all pererastaet disk and fill the data back. It is long and inefficient.
With dynamic all the easier it extends the partition to all free space on the physical disk, in whatever order they were in, in front, behind, or in the middle.

File system, in principle, do not care, the user is one of convenience.
No cons do not see. - earl.Weissnat commented on July 2nd 19 at 17:30
: Sorry, I thought you mean the two-disc version asked.
As for topics third - party utilities could not just increase/decrease, but to move so that you can create a dynamic disk makes no sense. - Kenyatta commented on July 2nd 19 at 17:33
: All I know of third party tools do a relabel on reboot, if I am not mistaken.
Again, they do the partitioning by moving data , the time is longer and the risk of losing data is higher.
In the case of dynamic disk, extending a partition is just a data entry in the FS on the partition boundaries, the data remain in place.
Well, again, all this from the command line you can do that is very convenient.
extend without parameters extends the section on all the possible space on the current drive. - earl.Weissnat commented on July 2nd 19 at 17:36

Solution
Spanned disk - softwary RAID in the Win.
View the total disk D
It is in any case not Reid.
It's just a flexible allocation of space on one disk - in fact the usual section.
Spanned disk is a logical disk assembled from pieces located on different physical disks.
In this case, the drive alone. - Teagan_Rutherford commented on July 2nd 19 at 17:05

judging by the color it dynamic disks
