How to move objects in openGL?

Based on code presented in the course of start android,how can using the function public void setModelMatrix() {Matrix.translateM(mModelMatrix, 0, x, y, 0);} to move the objects after they are created. That is, I created the object,and I want clicking the button to move it,I can do it,and need it to redraw the object itself,but not removed and a new one created with novmi coordinates.

Solution
FS as your start android, but even then each frame redraw, the object is "removed" and is created with the "new" coordinates.
