Properly rel="canonical"?

Is there a significant difference between
<link href="http://www.site.com.ua/" rel="canonical">
and
<link rel="canonical" href="http://www.site.com.ua/">
for search engines and for the validity of the code? Repeatedly faced with this and different CMS generate it on your own.

Solution
1. You have tags "shielas".

Try this:
bbc5109d1d9e4172b1b6cc2cfa7023f5.png

Get this:
<link rel="canonical" href="http://site.ru">

2. As to the question: no, semantically there is no difference, both options will be tested by the W3C validator, and the search engines both understand correctly.
