How to upload a large database dump?

Good day!

Unloaded base (Bitrix) with live server, the dump was not a small about 4 GB

unloaded via the console command:
mysql-uuser -p dbname > dump.sql

the problem is that I can't it now in the local database throw, use the following command:
mysql-uuser -p dbname < dump.sql

Response immediately after a second that the filled dump type everything is OK. In fact it turns out that the local database is empty.

what could be the problem?

The dump was leaking from two different servers on centos 6.5
Tried to upload the dump originally on Windows, then ubuntu is the same

PS: I Tried just with a smaller base 54Мб another site, same thing

mysql-u username-p password databasename < /full/path/to/dump.sql

Quite successful works
The problem is that why it just doesn't work, exactly with the base of Bitrix, the base from another site filled with no problems, and then it turns out the curve, the dump is created. - keaton_McClure commented on July 8th 19 at 16:00

That, actually, You didn't take a dump.

This must be done by the program mysqldump, not mysql:
mysqldump -uuser -p dbname > dump.sql

And start mysql with -u and the name of the base does not upload data. The utility returns You to interactive mode for further manual operations with the selected base.

That You didn't take a dump, specifies and immediate return console after pouring.
Sealed the question used mysqldump. This method not only works with the base of Bitrix, with the bases of other sites no problem. - keaton_McClure commented on July 8th 19 at 15:58

This does not usually happen, because "base", from MySQL's point of view, from product to product is no different. Utility still, what base to fill the dump.

I suppose some features with the underlying data in the database, or infrastructure/configuration of MySQL, or other reasons, which influence not listed in the question.

All my life I use mysqldump and pour the dumps on the same principle that You have written in your question. Between products, in this sense, no differences. - Carli commented on July 8th 19 at 16:01
