Linux can be reinstalled without problems.

If you have an OEM Windows rolled as an image, that can be a problem.

If you install Windows from your Windows CD, then erased the MBR, which is GRUB (Linux boot loader, which at the start we can choose what OS to boot), and Ubuntu will simply not run, because Windows bootloader can't boot Linux. But GRUB is easy to re-install with LiveCD of the same Ubuntu.
