How to convert hex representation of the text to ascii in Linux?

There is a line - the text representation of the bytes encoding the string.
I.e. the string "abcd" we see as "62616463"
The problem here is the incoming"6261..." to turn back into "abcd", i.e. the reverse hexdump.
I can't find how to do it in bash.

Thanks, easier than hexdump.
echo "test" | xxd-ps | xxd-ps-r
Works. - Willard_Jerde67 commented on July 8th 19 at 16:12
