Easier to say than don't write.
Mass on php for virtual hosting with php full.
And so it is possible even in basic, probably (in CGI mode).

Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby, Node.js, C# (ASP.NET), the Java has all the basic languages are interpreted, but if the server, not hosting, with CGI can be just about anything to write, so if performance is important, the individual parts or the entire back-end you can write C++, and assembler.

Java/Scala, PHP, Go, Perl, JavaScript, C#, Ruby, Python, C/C++, Erlang is all believe.

Do not believe in it, so I will give links to evidence:
Lisp - proof: https://habrahabr.ru/post/262225/
Haskell - proof: https://habrahabr.ru/post/193722/

On the pluses-minuses - it is necessary to take and discuss.
