How to create css classes when working with svg in Adobe Illustrator?

Need to modify the svg via css multilayer which is created in the illustratore. But as you know the name of the illustrator layer, converts to id and thus do not allow to work with the class. Are there any tools for replacement, substitution and other things that could help to create classes that we can fully control? Under control I mean.. for example assign several classes to a single layer.
