Is it possible to "stretch" the sprite?

I have a sprite

 background-position: 0-264px; 
 width: 35px; 
 height: 23px; 
}

I need to increase it by half. Can you advise to make more sprites but the problem is that I have no pictures necessary (I barely found the appropriate icon and then in the finished sprite).
