Where to look if assets not compiled and trace does not work?

root@server0:/var/www/apps/testapp# rake assets:precompile RAILS_ENV=production --trace
** Invoke assets:precompile (first_time)
** Invoke assets:environment (first_time)
** Execute assets:environment
** Invoke environment (first_time)
** Execute environment
** Execute assets:precompile

And all, silent for 10 minutes. The processor is loaded to 97%, nothing happens.
