When to collect money?

Hello!
Started the translation of documentation for one openarena game engine from English to Russian.
And,accordingly, do not want the gift and free to translate, because it is quite hard work.
So the question - is it possible for crowdfunding platforms to ask for money?
And if so,when is the best time to do it?
In the beginning, ie now when the Doc-tion has only just begun?Or when I translate the judges completely?
And how can you ask for this work?

: create a website that is easy to Google and remembered. Start a job, attach the purse. Then decide - whether or not. - camilla70 commented on July 9th 19 at 11:19
: I agree, Russian is certainly nice, but aside from the docks all the questions are in English. For example, I think about the fact that the docks would immediately have to write in English, though, and speak Russian. All transfer - alva8 commented on July 9th 19 at 11:22
Need then the forum. Russian kommyuniti little. No purpose to transfer. - Maeve_Hilpert85 commented on July 9th 19 at 11:25

I was fond of translations. Abandoned is a fairly thankless job. People who can give valuable feedback, usually already have been read in the original. A subset of people who can't in English, strangely enough, pretty much overlaps with the subset of people whose comments are not very valuable. This is especially true of a purely programming texts of the docks to libam/engines.

In the opposite direction it works, too — the most valuable spell in English, not only Russian-speaking authors all over the world.

Yet such a pattern: library/framework/engine or is actively developing and documentation becomes obsolete in a matter of months, or it is useless. What's the use in the docks, in your language, if they belong to the previous version?

Create your web site, upload documents, earn popularity, connect advertising and better not only translate documents, and do your homework, which does not replace the documentation, lessons can be sold, this is serious.
And investors also need to look for it is in this vein, any such project requires large investments, need to make enough lessons to make sense to start advertising and selling, but it can bring good passive income with minimum risk.

when is the best time to do it?

Depends on the engine and your product may never, if at all unprofitable project.
