Viewing the content of mysql indexes?

Is it possible, somehow, to view the contents of indexes in mysql?
What would really see a table with the sorted keys and references to the target entry (although not necessarily).
Are there any standard tools mysql or third-party utilities?

You for what? And indexes for which engine you want to see - innodb/myisam/etc?
Standard means of KMK no, but ask the experts here

The staff (and not regular) means for looking into the file indexes I have not seen. Guess because it does not need anyone. Executable, and executable. If interested in how indexes are used in each case (and they are used in the queries), then EXPLAIN to help.
