How to connect a 4K monitor?

Please tell me how to hook up a monitor in my case . There is a monitor https://catalog.onliner.by/display/samsung/u28e590d with support for display port, hdmi, 4K ; MacBook Pro 2016 (4 usb-c); a cable (probably mini display port to display port in the monitor or thunderbolt to display port(I can't tell them apart )), but on a MacBook Pro with thunderbolt this monitor works when connected directly . Want to buy this adapter from xiaomi https://xiaomi-store.by/catalog/aksessuary-dlya-no... . Will it work if connected to this adapter cable is available (mini display port or thunderbolt to display port) and whether to give 4K ? Tried via HDMI and quality is not 4K .... thank you

Solution
If the adapter is working, it will work.

Although if the goal is only to connect the monitor, then there are plenty of cheaper options.
And which version, usb-c to mini display port? - earline.Collins commented on June 5th 19 at 21:22
and why do you need the Mini DisplayPort, the monitor also normal?
You need a cord like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B075V27G2R/ - kavon.Murphy commented on June 5th 19 at 21:25
The fact is that I have a cable which one side of the mini diplayport and the other that goes to the monitor in the normal display port. So the question was for a cable adapter from xiaomi if one side of the mini connector and the other monitor the usual - earline.Collins commented on June 5th 19 at 21:28
the cable is suitable, but in this case you need both a cable and an adapter, but you can make do with just one cable.
On the other hand, the adapter provides additional USB ports, and if needed they have the sense to take it instead of lace. - kavon.Murphy commented on June 5th 19 at 21:31

HDMI 2.0 is displayed on the monitor. I really hope that the Mac is also HDMI 2.0 or older...
HDMI 2.0 supports 4K@50\60Hz.
So, if the quality is "not quite 4K", then blame the cable.
Hdmi on Macs has always been a pain for resolutions above fhd. - earline.Collins commented on June 5th 19 at 21:24
it's sad. - kavon.Murphy commented on June 5th 19 at 21:27
yeah not really: usually the only hdmi is only present in dermansky monitors in monitors decently already have dvi and/or dp. - earline.Collins commented on June 5th 19 at 21:30
the TV sets almost never have anything but HDMI - kavon.Murphy commented on June 5th 19 at 21:33
with TVs the question is also solved: there are adapters mdp-hdmi2 and usbc-hdmi2.
afaik, the only Apple devices with hdmi2 on Board atv 4k, the rest hdmi1.4 (and the actual models via an adapter). - kavon.Murphy commented on June 5th 19 at 21:36
