What kind of storage to use for storing mysql inside a virtual machine?

Good day!

You want to transfer one high-load server on the kvm dev.
On the server Mysql is spinning. Quite a lot of inserts.
Storage in the qcow2 disappeared at once. Raw is even less pull.

One idea is to stick the ssd in a server and mount it via iscsi inside the VM.
Just thought to try OpenVZ instead of kvm.
Prompt how better to implement?

the meaning of iscsi?
quickest way is physical volume in OpenVZ as there overheads low.

KVM can simply drive to connect to dev, no iscsi. And in General almost any hardware (forwarding PCI and USB Google to start).
