Relevant in this situation, upgrade?

The question is more economic I guess, but still)
Have a laptop with these characteristics:
CPU: AMD Turion II P520
RAM: 2x2Gb DDR3
Video: Radeon 5470 with GDDR5 memory
HDD: some WD 320 GB
Plus a disgusting display of 15.6" with a resolution of 1366x768 :)

Use for coding in JS, C# + started to learn Unity. Rarely, but assembled in Sony Vegas video. Playing only in the old, like System Shock 2, modern indie (whose system requirements have also "tightened") and platformers like Rayman Legends. But I play very rarely.

In General, until the computer is enough, but sometimes irritate the lungs friezes in the responsiveness of the interface (Yes, I have a lot of things always running, but still) and as always, I want to compile and render quickly.

Don't want to spend money, as in the current situation in the country and hanging mortgage better pogatsa, but also reduce the cost of iron is not expected, so I think somehow your computer to update.

Options:

1. To change laptop HDD to a 500 GB SSHD with 8 GB, and complete replacement to await allocation of the normal amount.
2. Buy a good Mat.cost, op.memory GB so 4 processor-plug + monitor. Connect PSU, HDD (lie idle) and gradually change the normal CPU, then RAM etc.
3. Leave everything as is, and six months later to buy the normal iron :)

Laptops don't keep upgrading and throw and buy a new one.
Anything to do with this iron - to deliver SSD.
All problems will be resolved, but the work will become more pleasant, the interface is more responsive.
Tom, thanks for the reply!
"Laptops don't keep upgrading" is described in my second paragraph)
"put SSD" is the first item. And Yes, all that can be done with a laptop. - Bethel.Reichert7 commented on September 19th 19 at 00:07

everything freezes in the PC usually are either from a shortage of operatives (4 little) or scored from the railway. Change is hard, it is quite possible, but add navernoe operatives will not work, because hell find the bar at 4 GB for the old laptop, and if you find the price will be as for 16 gig of new memory.
For coding you can try to put primocache, to give to her on a platter 200 meters of RAM, you get about this effect: 1 run a Studio let's say 15 seconds, 2 and then the launch of the Studio in about 1 second. That is, it caches what you use and when you guess which file you wanted to get the speed train in about 8Gb / sec.
4 a little, but still have enough. To add so not a problem, DDR3 memory chassis, sold freely (expensive, but now everything is more expensive), but there is more in percents rests (the performance of some Core 2 Duo 2 GHz with small).
But for primocache direct thanks, wonder how I do it. Be sure to try!

PS Friezes - a little incorrect, I put it. Fading system, just the General unresponsive under load (not 100%). Although this is also a question for RAM. - Bethel.Reichert7 commented on September 19th 19 at 00:09
: most likely all the same it is not enough, if by "a lot of things running" refers to the fact that I have 4 not just a little but very little, I forgot about this problem only when I put 12гиг, before that always ended, whatever it was. Of the main memory eaters are usually a browser, with anyone, because all modern on one engine, I partially solved the problem by the plugin to the chrome Tab Wrangler, for other browsers is similar. The point is that each tab in the browser eats over 100mb, that is sufficient to load about 30 tabs (which is easy) and all RAM Packed with one browser, the plugin closes tab on which you have not come and keeps on closed tab link to be able to open it. It turns out the browser does not eat more than the specified. - Bethel.Reichert7 commented on September 19th 19 at 00:12
: I agree, for me, happiness came when I set myself the 16GB. Now everything is flying. - Shawn.Rippin19 commented on September 19th 19 at 00:15

"To change laptop HDD to a 500 GB SSHD with 8 GB, and complete replacement to await allocation of the normal amount."
It is better to change the HDD to a SSD 240 Gb or 120 if money is short, so that then in a computer to use it as a system. And existing laptop HDD to a USB stick in your pocket and use it as storage. The laptop will be faster.
About this option, too. But the responses here convinced that it is better to wait and later buy a normal iron (with a good CPU, 8-12 GB of RAM, etc.). - Bethel.Reichert7 commented on September 19th 19 at 00:11
There is no contradiction - to buy a SSD and more comfortable to work on the laptop NOW. Use it LATER as a system disk in the computer, which will collect later.
Plug the hole now and use the plug then. - Bethel.Reichert7 commented on September 19th 19 at 00:14

SSHD will not give you the performance boost. It is a deadlock branch of development of media, and it has not justified itself. You will feel the difference only with the SSD, and the volume should be as large as possible, because almost always, performance depends on the volume. Plus a good controller (not SandForce), and will be fast. Although the background of the 5400rpm any SSD will seem fast.

RAM upgrade is also good, but we need to see is there a place (not on all laptops is\available), is there a strap (used?), if economically feasible.

"Buy a good Mat.cost, op.memory GB so 4 processor-plug + monitor. Connect PSU, HDD (lie idle) and gradually change the CPU to normal,"
economically hardly feasible, although the desktop is always easier the laptop in a stationary work and computational power for money laptops do not compete
- if I do, then:
-- the mother Board to take a low middle-high end or low-end, because cool mom you don't need
-- memory taken preferably from 8\16, to change the memory then it will be unprofitable
- the PERC-plug is not ice, you want copilarie and rendering quickly
HDD laying around, will be a brake on the entire system, a system without a SSD now does, so the budget should be more
-- without housing not good

In General, if you have what to expect - I would have waited.
Slots of free no, but the Mat.Board supports up to 8Gb of RAM. But from this POV, I will do as You recommended in the last paragraph - to wait, to defer more money and buy a normal iron. Thanks for the reply! - Bethel.Reichert7 commented on September 19th 19 at 00:13
: when you plan the hardware, lay all 16GB of memory - you will not regret. And two very important points: (1) good PSU, then not to bite your elbows burned from a computer, and (2) a backup, given the tight budget for some external railway from "floating around" in the Chinese box and security - in a couple of clouds like DropBox\Mozy (usually stacked in the free volume). - Bethel.Reichert7 commented on September 19th 19 at 00:16
Yes, all reasonable, thanks for the advice!
PS 16 GB of DDR3 from 9K rubles in new prices... so I will focus on 40K (considering that I still need a monitor). - Shawn.Rippin19 commented on September 19th 19 at 00:19
