Why your computer freezes on a single web page?

Good day.
Saying:
Have a computer with configuration: 1 GB RAM, AMD64 Athlon of 2.03 GHz
System: Windows XP Pro
Used soft: CryptoPro, Internet Explorer 8
Used for: electronic auctions (auction)

Tale:
When the bidding starts, the computer freezes hopelessly. Process iexplorer.exe eat off 150+ MB of RAM and loads the CPU at 100%.

Question:
Why and how to fix it?

Options: maybe this is all happening because of the frequent updates of the page content (every 5 seconds). There is still the idea about encryption and use of https, but I very much doubt it. Tell me how to be, if you update the hardware and OS do not really want (no money you see...)

Solution

$ 120 for a replacement platform type no??? And participate in the auction?
Why IE7 to IE8 is not updated?
Sorry, typo - Delpha.Walsh commented on September 19th 19 at 00:28
: Clear with IE. Perhaps the glitches of the site of the auction. We had the first trouble with IE11 - rolls on ИЕ10, and that didn't work. Now - problems with Russian participation in the auction of non - Belarusian companies. Sites are extremely raw and not tested. The impression that Belarusians have not tested at all. Jamb jamb - not the token, not the number of digits in a Bank account, now something Manager directly past me, butting with technical support. Perhaps IE8 was not tested. The iron - trade with nettop on Atom with 4G of memory, Win7 and ИЕ10. Iron - Win7 it will be on your computer. - Iliana_Hauck commented on September 19th 19 at 00:31
: that is, as the decision - to reinstall the system to win 7 - Delpha.Walsh commented on September 19th 19 at 00:34
: Yes, a half-hearted solution: Win7 + IE10. Preferably memory to add at least 1.5 G 99% sure that auction will work.
100% solution - and even replacement platform for a motherboard with soldered CPU + 4G memory in the old building with an old SATA disk for office is more than enough.

Oh God I did not want you to bear, dear user...:) - Delpha.Walsh commented on September 19th 19 at 00:40
I usually leave the HDD with XP on for some time to lie in a computer User - whether a little that week he will remember, and put Win7 on another disk. At work there is a slow planned replacement of old computers nettop with SSD - iron is released. - Iliana_Hauck commented on September 19th 19 at 00:43

you do not want problems - go to AMD and make the "zoo" of different versions of MS IE

So put a sane browser. If in IE problems (and it absolutely had and has many problems) - no updates ever still will not.
Put Chromium/Firefox and you will be happy.
Marketplace only IE :( - Delpha.Walsh commented on September 19th 19 at 00:32
