How do you approach the organization of projects to directories on the disk?

Suppose there are projects that include, besides the code, other files, such as diagrams, drawings, etc.?

For example (assume all files projOneFiles belong to the same project):

C:\
C:\NetBeansProject\
C:\NetBeansProject\projOneFiles\
C:\NetBeansProject\projTwoFiles\
C:\ЧертежиКОМПАС3D\
C:\ЧертежиКОМПАС3D\projOneFiles\
C:\ЧертежиКОМПАС3D\projTwoFiles\
C:\MCU_AVRcodes\
C:\MCU_AVRcodes\projOneFiles\
C:\MCU_AVRcodes\projTwoFiles\

or project their catalogs:

C:\
C:\projOneFiles\
C:\projOneFiles\NetBeansProject\
C:\projOneFiles\ЧертежиКОМПАС3D\
C:\projOneFiles\MCU_AVRcodes\
C:\projTwoFiles\
C:\projTwoFiles\NetBeansProject\
C:\projTwoFiles\ЧертежиКОМПАС3D\
C:\projTwoFiles\MCU_AVRcodes\

but then having difficulty finding a project in the IDE

Interesting to know your opinion.

There are symlinks, but they are in Windows is not reliable.

That is, a folder is created projOneFiles, which can come from all ways.

Symlinks in Windows 7
Reliable links, unreliable may be some ancient tools that Krivorukov programmers write without compliance with the recommendation from MS on working with the file system.

In addition to the symlinks there are more junction points, it is possible to experiment. Or swap the original directory and the link to the curve I was working with a real folder, but a normal program with link - marcos39 commented on September 19th 19 at 13:28

"that Krivorukov programmers write"

Thanks for not called unreliable inept user =)
In fact there have been cases of code links has fallen off for no reason, and checker demolished directory with important data as failed.

Maybe the problem was in using the "wrong" programs, however reliable such a solution can not name. - Janae.Schmidt96 commented on September 19th 19 at 13:31
How are You? - jamil_Ter commented on September 19th 19 at 13:34
: Well, users have something to blame ;)

Just for example, take any file Manager 2000 - he has no idea about the links, although they are already in NTFS attended.

Standard tools of the OS (file Explorer, checkdisk), correspond to the version of NTFS on it, with them no problems.

Links can't fall off for no reason - I use them for more than 10 years, ANY problems never was. Just I clearly understand what software I'm working with my drives. - marcos39 commented on September 19th 19 at 13:37
