Can search engine add a link to a nonexistent page?

Who knows, search engines to add to search link to not existing page? What had long been existing.

Yes, you can.
The page exists - it gets in the search engines index.
Once the page is deleted (returns 404, for example) it is removed from the index after one to several updates PS
but there is a caveat, if you this page once closed from indexation (robots.txt for example), then PS can't find that page have been removed and you can continue with the show in the search.
