Seminars about IT for schools

Hello, good people!

Appeared fierce desire to organize and hold free lectures at my old school (for students and teachers). Short — "a Basic course in computer literacy".

I care about the current state of Affairs, when many working with PC people don't understand the basic principles of "How it works". I believe that it is necessary to know for each:
— how does the PC (what it consists of and how to interact with its component nodes)
— what is the OS (for what it is, different OS family and their differences)
— what is a computer program
— how does a computer network (LAN, Internet, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP)

Practice:
— disassembly and reassembly of a PC (it's interesting, it's fun and useful, will consolidate the first lesson)
— basic network configuration with static addresses between the two PC's. (I think this example should reinforce the concept of networking, will solidify the lesson about networking)

I have a question, dear harrowdale:

— What do you think should be included or excluded from the list above?
— Are there ready-made plans such lectures with well-chosen questions for the presentation?
— How you consider, whether such a project in our schools?

I will be very glad to questions, sentences, ideas.

1. I lead such courses.
2. How many hours you plan the course. This depends heavily on what topics to cover.
I think you can spend 10 hours with the program described above, excluding practices. But this is very preliminary, it is necessary to draw up a detailed plan of lectures, then everything will become more clear. Plus to discuss this event with the school to coordinate lessons, and I was not at work, and the pupils had to spend the night at school. - Torey commented on October 3rd 19 at 02:25
Talk with the school Director and science teacher, it seems that they don't mind, I was ready to start at least this week. Asked to conduct a survey among students and teachers, what questions they would like to discuss in the course. - Torey commented on October 3rd 19 at 02:28

Another is to make a survey among the students about what they think the issues need to be addressed in this course.
