Lua backend.....?

Came across www.keplerproject.org.

I read interesting. And Lua itself is a good language.

What do you think, will there be a profit when using Lua as a backend for developing browser games?

Dangerous can be pitfalls as in any original technology. You can stretch in a narrow place, in the absence of the necessary libraries, in the absence of the developers on the support, in a number of strange bugs. The rarer and more original technology, the less care can do for the Internet. If it is a project focused on profit, not on self-development, I would not dare.
I agree. So I decided to ask. - vito.Hoeg commented on October 7th 19 at 23:12
And Lua is better continue to write to friends/acquaintances Addons for World of Warcraft =) - vito.Hoeg commented on October 7th 19 at 23:15
You are obviously not familiar with Lua, if you think its original technology and fear that it will not need libraries. Especially with the fact that from Lua you can call almost any C function, and if you try a little something generally any C-function. - Imani52 commented on October 7th 19 at 23:18

Don't quite understand the motivation. Yes, looks in General tech.
But there is Python for quick and efficient work and development, and Java is for slow development and high performance.
Both languages can be screwed DSL/script engine for scripts that will be profit.
What niche you want to occupy, what is not satisfied with the solution above?
I just wanted to know the opinion. He look in the direction of Python is very interesting language. Still looking towards Erlang. I like Lua :) I Think I myself confused.

/me went to read Learning Python. - vito.Hoeg commented on October 7th 19 at 23:16
You can use Python for network data processing, and command processing. And for the custom Lua scripts from the game logic, this is a popular approach.

I recommend Dive into Python :) - vito.Hoeg commented on October 7th 19 at 23:19
I'll try. Thanks for the tip :) - Imani52 commented on October 7th 19 at 23:22
About Go is also not forget. - vito.Hoeg commented on October 7th 19 at 23:25

Lua, Python much faster and requires less memory. In the rest of the Python better.
I write in Lua the game until all are satisfied.
By the way there is still such a wonderful thing as MoonScript. But Lua as a backend implemented in Moai. - vito.Hoeg commented on October 7th 19 at 23:18

About Corona SDK and I forgot to say. There is also lua, but this is mobile development. No matter what to write, just to like it and be comfortable.

There are still LuaJIT — uskoryaet to 64. Python slower.
Under the Lua, too, have almost all the necessary libraries.
IMHO backing lua better and faster than back in python.
And don't forget that lua vm is register based and python — stack based vm.
Ie even interpreting lua would be faster than a Python.
