Ubuntu & performance photoshop

Good day!
The issue in buying a laptop, don't know what's better — Mac or regular pc-laptop, and then put linux.)
Yes, I know that it is a perversion, but still interested in the opinion of the people who work in photoshop under Ubuntu or Linux in General what is the performance compared to the notorious and windows ( would be awesome ) MacBook Pro.

Thank you!

Work with a MBP and a desktop with ArchLinux. I think that will not surprise you that on a MacBook, with a smaller number of cores and RAM is much faster than under Linux in wine and virtualbox. But even that is not important. If you really need photoshop, not "pictures scribbled Yes, acne cover up", just try it under Linux, all questions will disappear immediately. And especially if you are planning to buy a thread Waco, which (let's be honest with ourselves) don't work well in Linux. Decide what you priority. Photoshop important and you need 90% of the time — perhaps there is a sense to overpay for a Mac, the photoshop launch times a week, the rest of the write in Python — you can use any.

The risk of being beaten and misunderstood adherents from both OS, but it was usually on habré :)

On my new 4-core laptop under my favorite Ubuntu had problems with power consumption and firewood under the video. Percent warming up and the fan constantly plowed on full power. I'm sad, I sit under Windows. :( - Ryleigh_Nicol commented on October 8th 19 at 02:28
Yes, this is also one of the priorities, because I work often on the road or in cafes, from Ubuntu will not wait the normal offline time) - Layne.Fay commented on October 8th 19 at 02:31
6 hours of work and a laptop on Ubuntu, as well as with vin7... CANT? ;) FSH — definitely a Mac, if you work with photos all the time... - Westley15 commented on October 8th 19 at 02:34
alternativshik — I guess that on Windows I can squeeze out of a laptop 30% more battery life ;-) - Layne.Fay commented on October 8th 19 at 02:37

In my opinion and experience, it's not about performance and iron will, and working capacity in photoshop, because using it under Linux is extremely convenient because of the features of windowed mode. I couldn't go on this, and to adapt a photoshop in Linux ) My recommendation — get a MAC!

Was photoshop on Ubuntu, now MPB is a huge difference under Linux is impossible to work in photoshop, firstly due to the fact that (or I something not so did, or not yet finished) does not work the text tool that is photoshop crashes, second I have just a couple of weeks no longer start. If FSH standards worked under Ubuntu, finally would have killed a computer with Windows at work :)
MBP :) - Charles_Lemke commented on October 8th 19 at 02:29
