The file server?

Hello everybody!

Tell us who had the affair, and if any realties alternative ways to organize a file server in addition to the hackneyed "Samba"/faylopomoyki on Win2k* Serv?

Maybe there's something more interesting than a banal network drive, etc.?

The question arises, what kind of information needs to be stored on a file server? Answering this question may disappear and native.
Yes, in General, the same as on Filipovich, but I would like to tie work with this web. - Reynold43 commented on October 8th 19 at 02:47
well... if videorenderers decision, then look at sharepoint
but still better to stay on smb IMHO. - Jonatan_Rodriguez69 commented on October 8th 19 at 02:50
So what's the thing that I do not want neither smb nor SharePoint because IMHO this technology 10 years ago. Must be something dropbox-like enterprise... - Reynold43 commented on October 8th 19 at 02:53

Why work with the Web, if SMB crossplatforming, though Kostylev inside, but allows to do much more things (for example, to read a file from the middle), and no brakes?
It is not about good or bad SMB and not brake it. The issue of alternatives, the fundamental. - Reynold43 commented on October 8th 19 at 02:49

There was a question. Came, I think, a sensible idea: add a search engine to filopovic. "Shared" Google-Desktop-and-forth... Any inbound network ball, can run the search form, fill the text and to link to the file with the given balls.
In GD this functionality has become the standard, or is determined by a third-party module, like DNKA? - Reynold43 commented on October 8th 19 at 02:51

Look at WebDAV, but it is better as a Supplement to the standard CIFS.
And that now works fine with WebDav? - Reynold43 commented on October 8th 19 at 02:53
Deeply dug, so I don't know. - Jonatan_Rodriguez69 commented on October 8th 19 at 02:56
