Licensing Windows Server

My task is to merge the accounts, mails and intranet portal. All able to connect to AD.

Please tell me do I have to purchase a license for user/device, if I just use AD as an LDAP directory to store users? And if I'm still and will introduce computers to the domain?
And is there even any licenses together with license server?

Here there can be read. In a nutshell, as I understand it, if users are authenticated (as they are in your case obviously are) then you have to buy a license.

Previously, between 2000 and 2003 like the boxed was on 5 CAL licenses. Licenses must be bought to connect to the server.

If you have already used the AD and purchased CALs for all users or computers, then do not need to buy more — CAL operate within the entire enterprise.
