If there is already a working project on MODx, you should not tolerate it. Because the transfer is almost the equivalent of creating the website from scratch.

PS Worked in both systems and not see any objective reasons to change the engine already running website.

A reasonable question arises, why? - davonte commented on October 8th 19 at 03:46

In principle, simple. Import/export CSV database products. The settings are similar to the CNC in the system. Filled symbols and happy.
Currently just busy writing freelance import/export (or rather synchronization) base in Bitrix products. The reason is simple — import/export via XML works in it correctly. Goods that are not in the file but is in the database must be deactivated ("Actions on items that are not in the file: deactivate"). But this is not happening.

The import of the information block using the XML created in Bitrix does not work, writes that the specified file is not in the CommerceML format. Not in the format file created by the Bitrix, what.

You cannot automatically upload third-party directories. You can not mix them in one folder and displayed on the website. You cannot specify a price depending on what third-party directory it was taken. And there is not a lot. About speed generally a separate story. Update the directory itself Bitrix takes 5-7 minutes (the banal catalogue of less than 2,000 items). Therefore, write your Updater, work out for 15-20 seconds.

With the same success all that could be written in MODx. Therefore, any profits from the use of Bitrix, we do not get. Salespeople from Bitrix can plenty to go around the ears about what their system is good, but when working with real store gets a lot of bugs that need long and hard with your hands to cut. The same could be achieved and from MODx, but unlike Bitrix to pay for it would not have to have it on a special hosting rate too. MODx is not the fastest system, but the requirements on the resources it is clearly less than for Bitrix.

So to translate the existing project on Bitrix — a waste of money. Such desires can only arise from not technical specialists (Manager, Director) who did not feel the two systems and can not estimate the required level of investment in such adventurous undertaking. - davonte commented on October 8th 19 at 03:48
As deployed ;) I agree that Bitrix damn greedy, but at the same time, the system is quite acceptable for a large Internet store. And most importantly — there is IMHO a better interface for hamsters. But for the developer a lot of headaches. A popular system due to the good PR from 1C. Often approached by customers with the phrase: "I want a shop on Bitrix". - davonte commented on October 8th 19 at 03:51
And to the question of transplant or not. XS, I would not. But if the customer pays, why not. - nolan.Gleason commented on October 8th 19 at 03:54
Well, every whim for your money, Yes. But in this topic we are a little bit different. If the author and after my post carefully one more time don't think (or do not give an explicit reason for the move) and you will find performers under this task, well why not. There are many different options wasting money this will be no better and no worse. - nolan.Gleason commented on October 8th 19 at 03:57

Support. Using import/export. One website wrote download directory from xml (database 1C). It is possible to unload from modx directory in a readable format for bitrix.

But the same question: why? Works — do not touch!
Vdemo owners believe Bitrix CMS mega cool and very prestigious. Although the fact that at my previous place of work spun on Bitrix and 4 servers on the current works fine on one server and java )) - davonte commented on October 8th 19 at 03:50

As an option
The snippet moves to the docks in files for Bitrix.

Strangely, all reasonable developers on the contrary slazit from Bitrix to MAGIX, and then Vice versa.
