Encryption USB Flash. What?

Good day\evening\morning Habr.

Problem: to encrypt a flash drive with password access.

Feature: USB flash drive must be used on any PC running Windows or Mac.

Ie they won't stand any cryptographic or other specialized software. When you connect the flash drive have to enter the password and get access as a USB drive.

From the covered, tried Trucrypt — but that would not have happened. Besides visible files of cryptography, which is not good. Other utilities work fine under Windows, but on Mac nothing.

Already inclined to purchase something of this type, but the characteristics are not encouraging. And I want to use your flash drive.

Thank you all in advance, I'm sure many have resolved this issue.

I see two contradictory paragraph in Your statement of the problem.
1. Use "on any PC" — means assume that the "any PC" is only the bare axle, and no additional software. As a common standard of encryption of the external media no, it's sad.
2. "when connecting you must introduce your password" — then on "any PC" already has a that this password will be asked and further and give it some service (no matter where) that will support the proper encryption.

I see only one obvious solution — it should be worn on the flash drive, on a separate partition, for example. And the data partition is encrypted in its entirety.

Solutions better than TrueCrypt I have not seen, although there are analogues — all PGP Portable, etc.

"visible files cryptography" — TrueCrypt Hidden Volume to help You.

You can compose their hardware solution, but this is too much.
apparently they didn't figure out TrueCrypt. I'll dig - barbara.DAmore commented on October 8th 19 at 03:48

I can hardly imagine what else you can do but not encrypted using TrueCrypt. I'm afraid in your case the only properly working solution.
and what is the complexity of my wishlist? mine is everyone needs =) - barbara.DAmore commented on October 8th 19 at 03:50
Fully support. TrueCrypt is simple and reliable thing for everybody. - barbara.DAmore commented on October 8th 19 at 03:53
Frankly speaking have not made the required request password. Tried on version 7.0.and
Moreover, since the MAC and NTFA stick things far away, trucrypt limits the store size to 4 GB — and this is not enough - aniya.Kertzmann65 commented on October 8th 19 at 03:56
NTFS?
In General, try exFAT - barbara.DAmore commented on October 8th 19 at 03:59
Or better UDF? - Ericka.Kling commented on October 8th 19 at 04:02

As a variant still — encfs.

>tried Trucrypt — but that would not work
And what's the problem? Bad blocks on the drive?
The problem is that, after encryption pendrive through vehicle, then you have:
1. To podkluchit CSS
2. Go to the directory
3. Start the vehicle
4. Mount image
5. To enter the password
6. work
7. To unmount the image
later

I would like to just get a startup password request

Moreover, stick the flash drive in the aimag — and what to do with it? it only windose exe - barbara.DAmore commented on October 8th 19 at 03:54
