Tell me project on GitHub

I want a friend to stir up one web service for which you want the windows application. The source code of similar apps you have on github in a public repository.

Question: can we forgot it and use forgoty code in your application? If Yes — then under what conditions? Will there be any restrictions?
I would also be grateful for any references on the topic.

And you ask the authors, which license. And ask yourself, under what license is your code.
+1. It does not matter whether the code is taken github or something. Just look for a license. The "free" licenses — BSD and MIT. - Jakob_Reinger commented on October 8th 19 at 03:59

Maybe it's better to ask directly the authors of the code than at Habra (without any specifics)?
interested in the intricacies of product licensing, the authors have posted the source code on github - Jakob_Reinger commented on October 8th 19 at 04:01
What's the difference, where someone posted the source code. Still license, the author determines, not hosting. - Tristian_Runolfsson commented on October 8th 19 at 04:04
The easiest and most correct option. The author himself defines the development rights, or subject to other licenses, if used to develop other authors parties. - paolo.Bailey commented on October 8th 19 at 04:07
