Sync google drive. How all the same works?

Work on different computers: home, work and laptop travel.
I decided what bothered to drag the desired files between devices manually and decided to put google drive for this purpose.
Save files on a home PC(at work most likely was included and GD it launched), they sync to the cloud, it seemed that everything is fine, but opening the next day's project, I realized that missing a few hours of my work. This was repeated once again. Of course after this was removed working directory out of sync and went back to the old manual method of migrate.
So here's the question. How to go to the penultimate version of the file is still overwritten on the last one? Or maybe I did something wrong?
