How to store and retrieve patches of text in MySQL?

I keep the patches (the version of the text) in MySQL. Libo PHP use sebastianbergmann/diff for patching text. I have a versions table, in her column of type TEXT, there are stored changes.

To display the current latest version of the text, its because you need to drive through Libu. But how for example to search for documents in MYSQL? How to glue these versions directly in MySQL? Or even there are other ways for diff Inga texts, without this libs? Or not bother and store all the text for each version? But the texts need large as for smart, I think?

Solution
To keep separate the chain separate patches and the latest version. In the end, you can revert to any version, but without unnecessary movements you can perform operations on the latest version (search, conclusion, etc.).
And since in 99% of cases will need the latest version (will rarely need the previous ones) - it will greatly reduce the load, but without losing versioning.
