Proper use of notes/snippets in phpStorm?

Good day!

Periodically there are times when it makes sense to write code again, because it is already written and it is easier and safer (if the logic is complicated) to copy to the new project.

The first (and easy) that comes to mind is to create a folder in the folder create a file == the type of programming language (html. css, php, js) and each file need to publish snippets. But here as the same problem, what to do when a file is several meters in height? OK, the files created, how then to get quick access from phpStorm to these files? Maybe there is something like 'favourites'?

Question: what decisions are best to use in this task on phpStorm >= 2017?

Thank you!

I use a separate app SnippetsLab (for other OS I think there are analogues). With PhpStorm is not integrated directly, but this is not necessary – the application hangs as a menubar app for hotkey opens a mini-window to search/add, click copied. Bonus – integrates with Gist.

What is used very often distilled in Live Templates.
