Remotely where to place MySQL database and connect to it through c#application?

At the moment I have a working desktop application in C# with local database MySQL. I want to place the base on any hosting or vps and then connect to it via the app to work with the data. I read that with a VPS you need to use SSH, do I need to implement it in your application or the application can connect just connection strings?

I read that with a VPS you need to use SSH

For You as a person, Yes.

As for the program, no matter where to connect to a local or remote server, specify the address of your remote server and allow it to accept requests from the outside.

Or implement like the API.

I know the ClearDB service, where you can download the SSL keys and certificates and then maybe .NET application, it is sufficient to specify the desired connection string.
At least the app on Ruby on Rails so it works without problems.

VPS for these purposes is not required.
Any paid hosting will suit you, there usually will default to Mysql.
Not every hosting can be knocked to the database remotely - tristian_Mills commented on March 19th 20 at 09:16
@tristian_Mills, well, OK, then before buying hosting to ask technical support whether you can connect to the database remotely. - Elroy.OHara52 commented on March 19th 20 at 09:19
