How to decode the bytes from the body of the letter in the Cyrillic alphabet in Python?

Tell me, when reading mail using the standard imaplib with the exception of libraries such email, there are ways different from:
rv, data = imap.fetch(num, '(RFC822.TEXT)')
print("MESSAGE TEXT: ", base64.b64decode(data[0][1]).decode('UTF-8'))

in order to get the text in Russian from the body of the letter? I mean no import base64, and flag some in imaplib, etc.
