Why external interfaces drain your MacBook in sleep mode?

Why, when attached to an external monitor, or USB hub for Macbook Pro - deducted 35% of the charge of the laptop for the night, which is in sleep mode?
At first I wondered why a USB hub, where all ports are disabled separately - drain your laptop.
The same situation with an external monitor, which I turn off, but not pull out the connector from the laptop.
In the Internet I could not find any information about this.
