You need to translate the server-side game from Windows to Debian?

Is it possible to remake the game working on Windows that they work on Debian? Only the server part, no graphics. I now know that Lineage 2 is Linux, server part, means to translate code from Windows to Linux is possible, but I wonder, is it difficult and what exactly the remake necessary? I understand that there is code not in a global scale needs to be changed, but not sure. If reasoning, then if the game is written in c++, and Linux c++ the same after all, isn't it?

by and large the difference will be only in the code that uses system calls or features of the operating system.
If the file *.exe weighing in at around 2Mb, it is about how much % of the code for a remake. - Alfreda84 commented on April 3rd 20 at 17:48
and the source code is there? because if not, it remains only to try to run under wine - geraldine.Armstrong commented on April 3rd 20 at 17:51
Can still used third-party libraries, sharpened under Windows they then need to be redone.
Porting to another platform can be quite simple quite complex, requiring major changes in the code. Easier to write cross-platform SOFTWARE. - loren87 commented on April 3rd 20 at 17:54
@geraldine.Armstrong, about the fact that if there is no source code - and the code won't rewrite it of course.
And with regards to wine, this console Debian runs without problems? And do I need any other libraries to put in additives? - Alfreda84 commented on April 3rd 20 at 17:57
@Alfreda84, the console did not try. Libraries may need, they will have to drag out of the Windows. - geraldine.Armstrong commented on April 3rd 20 at 18:00
@geraldine.Armstrong, Yes, the dll is clearly needed. But if Debian x64, and Windows on 32 bit, it work because it will be through wine? - Alfreda84 commented on April 3rd 20 at 18:03
@Alfreda84, I do not know. Only 32, and long ago it was. - geraldine.Armstrong commented on April 3rd 20 at 18:06
@geraldine.Armstrong, but using wine, in any case, this deal will work where it is not stable and tormoznutaya than if it worked right from Windows, right? - Alfreda84 commented on April 3rd 20 at 18:09
@Alfreda84when. - geraldine.Armstrong commented on April 3rd 20 at 18:12

How do you know?!))

This means that one (or two) of sources gathered under the two platforms.
The binary format of each OS - your.

If no source of the servo, then the options to run very little: wine and virtualbox.
