If your laptop is old, has an on Board printer port LPT, and the number of managed devices exceeds 8, then the answer is Yes. The fact that the LPT port is easy to manage the software, and any knowledge of information exchange protocols will be required. You just have to write the ones and zeros in certain registers of the port (at fixed addresses that are configured in the BIOS), and eight lines of the port will appear signals with levels +5 and 0 volts.
