Why when connecting through the VPN, in network neighborhood is not displayed Win10 Samba balloon?

Hello, gentlemen. At the request of a friend, on his Raspberry Pi 3 model B I have configured the VPN server. There I have already configured Samba. From your home PC with Win10 I connect through a VPN friend, but in network neighborhood does not see his ball. That is, when connecting through VPN if in the address bar type \\192.168.1.42, the contents of the balls as it should be opens. But the ball (raspberrypi) for some reason does not appear in my available list.

Tell me, please, what I wrong and how to get the ball in the network neighborhood?

Solution
Because the "my network places" works only in local network
\\192.168.0.1\disk_1 is the NAS I have (available via VPN or directly).
\\192.168.1.42\disk_1 - located on Raspberry Pi from a friend (only available via VPN). - douglas7 commented on April 4th 20 at 00:43
@gianni_Shiel, so VPN is a local network.
Not a global... - sim38 commented on April 4th 20 at 00:46
Itny are different, broadcast, the subnet master browser, NetBIOS, firewall, the working group... that should start you Google.
Not enough information is.

Because it is necessary to explicitly specify a wins server.
as Samba provides the wins service?
you proverite if anything?

ps googled, it seems to have such a feature. but wins still is working on top of NetBios, and it is not being routed for historical reasons
if you do known solutions, describe them in more detail - shania commented on April 4th 20 at 00:45
she has 2 services smbd and nmbd, which is WINS - Olaf.Kihn commented on April 4th 20 at 00:48
@Olaf.Kihn, to mark the answer, you are missing the most smallness - to add it back. but to clarify, that will work provided that the wins and the vpn server on one side, and append the parameters have the vpn client in the settings of the connection
in the opposite direction recognition based on NetBios will not work. it is not routable in the principle

.. although .. forget it.. I unsubscribe )) - shania commented on April 4th 20 at 00:51

Well, it seems you have the ball works great, just no name.
See name server, the one that WINS for example.
publicamente:
as Samba provides the wins service?
if you enlighten that?

@shania,In the config wins support = Yes
And about NetBios and routing - why routing in the local network? - sim38 commented on April 4th 20 at 00:50
@sim38, cute, you could just add in response..
but traveled (with)..
and everything else is the same rode (C), there kamentah under the answer, a lot of omissions, misunderstandings, and hasty attacks, in General, a waste in fact... but inertia has turned out here such comments here.. you can also in the furnace, if you wish..

but in fairness - fill in response to applicability, note. there is no court net (C)
.. and then you also have your answer with his hands as it to mark the answer - shania commented on April 4th 20 at 00:53
