What is the difference between a sprite from the images in Unity 2d?

I understand that a sprite can be animated. Are there any other differences?

A Sprite is an object for creating graphics in the app, with all kinds of properties and methods, physics, etc.
Image component for drawing a sprite in the Canvas UI.

Not "Unity 2D", is simply Unity.

What? In canvas there are image sprites is a set of components, which has a spriteRenderer and image.
