How to start a career in UX?

Hello! I have 2 questions.

1) When I started UX (relatively recently), has chosen mobile and I love it. After reading articles and books, I have a question. How relevant is the theme of mobile in the future? Read about voice interfaces/AR/VR, should I start to take them now or to focus on mobile?

2) How to make the right portfolio for UX. How closely will pay attention to reviewer on color, shape, composition portfolio, if you like UX and show to correctly show the design of the user experience?

Thank you!

1) In fact, the platform is secondary, the important tools that a designer is able to work. Today, mobile, Voice, tomorrow, the day after the VR. But the tools work the same: jtbd, IA, userflow and other variants of extraction of requirements and understanding of the product. It is more important.

2) Sobeseduyut designers and little attention to end-colors, shapes, etc. is more Important approaches and tools above. What's the use in forms, if one does not know what to do on the co-creation session with a client has no experience in qualitative research? More important as he explores product sistematizirovat, prioritaire and work with information in General. And the screen is secondary. The primary process here.

So I would suggest to change the vector a little to the research field.
And in any case not to ignore such a layer works as a soft-skills.
Half of the work we designers are now about them.
Thank you very much for the answer! And how to turn the experience of research, what literature to read ? - elenora.Mosciski commented on April 7th 20 at 15:34
@Deontae_Bechtel, "Interface. Foundations of interaction design" by Alan Cooper.
Hard, but possible. The presentation gives. - ardith_Parisian commented on April 7th 20 at 15:37

Not a hindrance. You can simultaneously hack loot on mobile and in your free time to take in VR :)
If the topic normally "shoot", go there.

Yes, as you wish. UX — so a new made-up shit that can do anything. And maybe even get lucky and take somewhere to work where you will be called UX specialist. And what exactly are you going to do, already there will decide. Can be an analyst separate directions, like mobile, or the whole product at once. And can perform the functions of the art dir and project for multiple products at once. In General as lucky.
