Is it possible to "satellite fishing" in PON networks?

Just came up with the idea: if satellite fishing is possible when the subscriber terminal catches the whole data stream from the satellite and vytseplyat of these useful files, you can do the same to rotate in PON/GPON? After all, the principle is the same: the General environment (fiber from the OLT), which is divided into passive splitters for tens and hundreds of subscribers (ONT), and the user equipment selects out of the whole lot only what the user requested. That is, in the house of each subscriber flies all the data flow that shake his neighbors in OLT. Is it possible to save them as is the case with the satellite?

There's a tricky coding at the level of the sfp module, something like TDMA. Has just not catch the entire flow, the total traffic to the percent does not reach simply. On each link encrypted with his key, also in hardware.
So will not go fishing.

Fishing was relevant 15-20 years ago. Now the Internet is in each iron.
