Please explain at what stage can I filter the string rxjs?

Slowly trying to understand what is rxjs, here is the code
const app = new Vue({
 el: '#app',
 data: {
 messageSubject$: new Rx.BehaviorSubject('Hello vue!')
 mounted() {

 setTimeout(() => {
 this.messageSubject$.next('Hello vue(changed)!')
 }, 3000);

how to make that when you change Hello to Hello vue vue(changed) I could test whether the new row changed, if Yes, put it in this.messageSubject$ some value, for example true if not then false, or I do not understand correctly how it works?
