How to implement a dialogue system in a text quest?

Write a text RPG game for Android in which the player will have to choose from 2-3 options for the development of the plot, the choice depends on the further development of the plot (typical RPG, Yes). Tell me how to implement the very system of choice? The idea was to build on SQLite, but it's not an option, as I understand it. Still reading about .xml files with nodes that are loaded when you do certain actions. What are the options? And is there any convenient utility for the design of dialogov? Thank you!
