What to look for when designing your theme for Wordpress?

I read a lot of passions that the development of his theme for the EP from scratch is threatened by anything: hacking, theft of accounts and other "pleasures". Use, say, ready-made themes and rule their daughters to avoid such problems.

Whether a reasonable comment? Or reinsured the people?

I just think that a child theme can pull up a bunch of clutter from the main theme.

And maybe there are some things that you should pay attention to when designing from scratch? Please share with us.

The first thing you should pay attention to the code https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page so a lot of useful information, including on security. If the correct approach to the topic, it will get no worse (and maybe even better prepared). The Internet has a lot of good articles on the topic of security, for example, https://vip.wordpress.com/documentation/validating...

I would say that you should pay attention to the following things:
- choose framework for theme settings from backend
- to prepare the original design (layout)
- impose it
- to write the most clean, valid code
- give the correct title templates
- prepare theme localization
to test the adaptability of topics
- to increase competitiveness can be, for example, to prepare amp version of the theme
- of course, to use scss || less
- only use min versions of scripts and styles.
- of course to read the Code trip (if you plan to sell a theme, you should also draw the attention on codecanyon).
- no harm will explore the theme of the competition (again on codecanyon)
- the theme should be fast, secure, responsive and valid.
Thanks for the reply!
Subject to sell do not plan it for yourself.
Can be a little more about the framework settings from the backend? - Frida_OConnell44 commented on June 10th 19 at 16:44
Usually in vocational subjects, particularly in those which are sold at сodecanyon, bolted to the topics frameworks for making changes to the theme without delving into the code.
There are quite a lot of frameworks, and almost every one of them contains documentation.
One of them Redux Framework https://reduxframework.com/
